I am currently reading a novel about a friendship of 2 black and white boys during the south african apartheid. It's an interesting novel by Sheila Gordon, just by showing me how it's like for a black african kaffir (servant) worked his way out of the farm to satisfy his thirst for knowledge. I am in bad need of a dictionary 'coz i'm running out of good adjectives for her novel.haha.

i am reading his book 'Waiting for the Rain' because of our english project. We are obliged to do this book review thing after reading it. Usually, when i do projects, i get easily stressed, but now, i am really willing to do this stuff maybe because it really made me very interested.

Through Tengo (the black boy) I felt that i am indeed a very lucky girl. Imagine how hard it was for him just to study, going away from his family, being poor and all, it was hard... And as for me, just a happy go lucky girl who doesn't have plans or any future at all, can study in a good school without having her parents sent away from her, it was all easy. I admire the character's thirst for education, freedom, equality, respect and power. A very disciplined boy (which i'm not!) who just wanted to answer the questions he had in mind, and go away from the farm, where he grew up, and where it all started.

What i'm telling you is not the main idea of the book, it's just some part of it. i just realized how important education is, and i had this thought of writhing it in this blog...
And so for everyone who thinks that studying is just a lame thing to do.. well, think again. You might be rich or might as well be as powerful as anyone can be, if you don't have this kind of power, then you're no different from the ones in the hospitals for the mentally-challenged people.

(why do i feel like i'm writing for an english paper??.. blah..)
